Battling Insurance Companies: How to Pin a Giant

As an attorney, I spent 25 of my 30 plus years of experience representing insurance companies.  Working closely with them, I gained first hand knowledge of the strategies insurance companies sometimes use to avoid paying claims.  As your lawyer, I apply the lessons I learned when I represented insurance companies. I am able to anticipate and counteract the tactics insurance companies use when confronted with a claim they don’t want to pay.

Don’t be intimidated. The insurance industry is a highly regulated business, with many watch dogs.  Insurance companies know the law … and are counting on your ignorance of the law. I will level the playing field. I will be your insurance industry “watchdog” and hold insurers responsible for the coverage they underwrite.  I will not be outflanked or fooled for a minute.

Affordability and Flexibility: I Don’t get Paid Unless You Get Paid

As your attorney, I work on a contingency fee basis only - I don’t get paid unless you get paid.  Additionally, since I work as a private attorney, I am free of the kinds of policies and expectations that some larger firms use to control their attorneys.  My flexibility means I work for you … providing personalized service without the use of younger, less experienced lawyers.

Depth and Knowledge

In addition to my litigation and trial experience, I have also taught Civil Procedure at the George Mason School of Law, located in Arlington, Virginia.  I also served for five years as a Neutral Case Evaluator for the Fairfax County Circuit Court. As a Neutral Case Evaluator, I evaluated personal injury cases for the purposes of negotiation. (If you would like to learn more about this program, please visit: http://www.co.fairfax.va.us/courts/circuit/ncelaw.htm.)

As an attorney, I fight for you and your family.  Injuries due to medical malpractice or an auto accident mean loss of income, medical bills, even disability in some cases.  Don’t be a victim of someone else’s negligence or recklessness. Take matters into your own hands.  For an attorney representing clients throughout Northern Virgina, Washington D.C. suburban Maryland (the counties of Anne Arundel, Prince George’s, and Montgomery) and Baltimore city, contact the law office of John H. Johnston today.  Available evening and weekends by appointment only.
